IEM Rio Major playoff bracket locked in

The Major in Brazil has reached the Champions Stage, set to begin on Thursday.

The fifth and final round of play for the Legends Stage has drawn to a close, with MOUZ, Natus Vincere, and Spirit booking their spots in the Jeunesse Arena in the last do-or-die round of matches.

The $1,250,000 tournament now moves on to the single-elimination knockout stage, where eight teams are set to battle it out for their chance at etching their names into the history books and becoming Major champions.

The opening series for the playoffs will be on Thursday at 18:00 with a battle between fnatic and Outsiders, who will be playing a knockout stage rematch after meeting once already during IEM Rio. The two teams previously squared off in the Challengers Stage, with the Russian-majority quintet getting the better of William "⁠mezii⁠" Merriman's team 2-0.

FURIA will look to make a deep run in front of the home crowd

Cloud9 will begin their quest to earn their organisation its second Major trophy with a quarter-final affair versus MOUZ on Thursday at 21:30 . The Russian roster have had a daunting time during their run through the Major, initially facing a threat of elimination with a 0-2 start in the Challengers Stage, before recovering with a 3-0 sweep of the Legends Stage en route to a spot in the playoffs.

HEROIC return to the playoffs of a Major for the third time running. The Danes' first test comes in the form of Spirit in a match that will take place on Friday at 18:00 .

The home-town favourites of FURIA will kick off their playoff campaign on Friday at 21:30 with a clash versus the heavyweights of Natus Vincere.

The two semi-finals will play on Saturday, kicking off at 18:00 and 21:30 before giving way to the highly-anticipated grand final, which begins on Sunday at 19:00 .
